TMW: Arsenal now open to exit of defender as Milan prepare attempt

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have set their sights on the former Serie A man Jakub Kiwior for January. The centre-back hasn’t been getting much playing time at Arsenal lately and the Gunners are now open to sale, a report claims.

Milan currently have four centre-backs on the sidelines and that’s why Theo Hernandez has been playing in the middle recently. With Pierre Kalulu and Malick Thiaw expected back next year, the Rossoneri are set to sign a centre-back in January.

Several players have been linked with the club but Jakub Kiwior, currently at Arsenal, appears to be the most concrete option. According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the Gunners are now open to a sale but it remains to be seen if they are willing to accept a loan formula.

As the report continues, Milan could perhaps include an option to buy but that’s as far as they will go in January. For Kiwior, having only played 478 minutes this season, it would be a good move as the Rossoneri would guarantee playing time.

Milan are also working on bringing back Matteo Gabbia from Villarreal, cutting the season-long loan short. The Primavera product is not deemed a starter, though, so his return would not rule out the signing of Kiwior.

    1. Well… Compared to last summer’s it actually was a huge success. A year ago the only player with any positive influence to the team was Thiaw. Origi & CDK were insanely huge flops.

This year we got Pulisic who has been the best player so far. Reijnders has been a starter for months now and to Pioli he’s irreplaceable. RLC is also a starter. If Jovic can continue like this, he can’t be labelled as flop either (in the end).

So… Three new starters bought and one of them is actually the MVP so far.
