Samuel Chukwueze was AC Milan’s most expensive signing of the 2023 summer window but there is a risk that he could leave after just 18 months, a report claims.
TMW write that Chukwueze has not carried on his form from last season and in particular during preseason where he gave the impression of being a player who is growing and fighting for a starting spot.
The numbers show that he has scored just one goal since arriving, which is far too little for a player who hit double figures in his final season with Villarreal and has the capability of causing problems for defenders with his speed and dribbling.
Milan meanwhile are not closing the door to the idea of a sale, because in the 4-2-4 and in the 4-3-3 he does not start under Fonseca. Christian Pulisic is the main man but when he arrived it was thought that he might be the back up to Chukwueze.
Instead, the USA international has made himself undroppable while the Nigerian continues to struggle. He must either turn around his form or during the January transfer window offers will be evaluated, especially after Fonseca issued a challenge to him to try and make him more consistent.
I knew he would fail to impress from the moment we were linked with him. Any scout with half brain sell would know that this player excels in a league with open spaces like the Premier League and La Liga. Another failure from Moncada.
It seems like he is only capable of playing well in games where he gets lots of space. Get him to play in Serie A against compact defenses that mark him closely, and he is a one-footed disaster.
Pulisic is ten times better. So, yes, selling him would be a good move, if we can then use the money to get a better deputy for Puli.
Going away from Serie A would be a good move for Chuk as well, for his career. I wish him well; he seems to be a nice guy.
Poor signing. It’s not easy for players in la Liga to adapt to Serie A. It has been proven on so many occasions of players failing to adapt from this league because the teams play with so many space in La Liga and EPL.
We should have gone for Berardi who was by far the best option or Zeghrova who I believe was doing wonders at Basel at the time we signed Chukwueze. We were also linked with Zeghrova as well. Sigh!
This is what normally happens when a team doesn’t have an experienced Sporting Director and instead have a bunch of clueless amateurs.
Low quality player.
This sums it up lol.
He has limited game IQ, lacks off-ball movement, and makes poor decisions when he has the ball. He tries to play like Leao but struggles to beat his opponents when under pressure.
Leaving AC Milan wouldn’t be a bad move atall for Chukwueze. If is not working then take your trade elsewhere. Chucks still remains a quality player maybe nit a good fit for AC MILan.
