TMW: Contacts ongoing between Milan and agent of 81-goal winger who could replace Castillejo

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are continuing to work on signing Marseille winger Florian Thauvin either in January or next summer, according to a report.

MilanNews were among the sources to claim that the entourage of Thauvin had offered the right-winger to the Rossoneri management.

Vito Angele recently reported on Twitter that Thauvin remains a player that the Milan management are attentive to, especially given the fact he will be available for free next summer, and a number of reports since have echoed those sentiments including one from Le10Sport today.

According to the latest from TMW, contacts between Milan and the entourage of Thauvin have continued beyond the end of the summer window.

Cyril Rool – his representative – spoke with Milan at the beginning of October and talks are still going on with optimism regarding the outcome. The feeling is that Thauvin could be the replacement for Samu Castillejo, especially if an offer comes in from Spain in the next few weeks.

Thauvin can sign on a free transfer for another club ahead of the summer in January, but Milan could try to bring him in quicker. Thauvin has scored 81 goals and amassed 56 assists in 244 games for Marseille across all competitions.
