TMW: Defender may leave Palmeiras after just two appearances – Milan at the window

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could make another move to try and sign left-back Matias Vina in the upcoming window, according to a report.

It was reported by MilanNews on deadline day back in January that Vina was the profile at the top of the list to replace Ricardo Rodriguez as the Rossoneri’s new back-up left-back, as the Swiss international joined PSV Eindhoven on loan.

The 22-year-old from Uruguay international was playing for Club Nacional at that point and it was reported that Milan offered a paid loan of €1.5m with an obligation to buy (set at around €7m) under certain conditions, with the player ready to land in Milan for medical visits.

However, the move never ended up materialising as Antonee Robinson became the first choice target though the deal for him collapsed due to a heart condition and Diego Laxalt was recalled from Torino, but a deputy to Theo Hernandez is expected to be on the agenda this summer.

According to Marco Conterio of TMW on Twitter, Vina could leave Palmeiras after just a few months and two appearances, and once the window reopens and there is a possibility that Milan may make another attempt to sign him.
