TMW: Elliott’s full trust is in Maldini as he closes in on signing of Brazilian trequartista

By Oliver Fisher -

Elliott Management fully trust Paolo Maldini in carrying out Milan’s project, a report claims, and he is close to sealing another signing.

According to TMW, head coach Stefano Pioli and striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic are not viewed as the only catalysts of the project that the American fund want to carry out because above all there is technical director Paolo Maldini.

The report stats that he did a first year of apprenticeship of sorts in which he made a lot of mistakes and perhaps he also trusted the wrong people, but now his vision is clear: young players,  attractive football, technical guidance and targeted purchases of experienced players.

As a result, the planning for the 2021-22 season has already begun and Milan have reached an agreement in principle with Otavio, a 25-year-old attacking midfielder from Porto.

The 25-year-old Brazilian has 17 goals and 45 assists in 166 competitive games for Porto, and his contract is expiring so he has time to listen to counter-offers, but Milan seem determined and the player seems to have already made his decision.
