TMW: Battle commences as Milan see €12m offer for Gent sensation rejected

One of the most exciting talents in Belgium at the moment is Fernandez-Pardo, and AC Milan have reportedly had an offer turned down for the winer.

TMW report that there is a queue developing for Fernandez-Pardo after an extraordinary breakout season especially in the second half of the campaign, where he blossomed and made his value soar to the current €15m euros needed to secure his services.

In addition to various Italian clubs such as Roma, Lazio and Milan – who have been on the player’s trail for some time – there is now also Southampton in the Premier League that are keen on him. However, Gent have not yet received a bid high enough from anyone.

There is a clue regarding his future though, because the forward remained on the bench in the second match of the season that Gent played against Dender. It is likely that this was a move to avoid risking him given that the mercato is particularly active.

The teenager exploded in the play-off phase of the last Belgian league season with seven goals in 10 appearances, eight of which were as a starter. Overall, without considering the first part of the season with the youth team, Fernandez-Pardo had 21 appearances, eight goals and two assists.

These numbers have in fact also attracted the interest of the German champions Bayer Leverkusen but the Italian clubs seem to be further ahead, with Milan having already sent an offer of €12m that was rejected.
