TMW: Gazidis considering Arsenal boss Emery for AC Milan job

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan director Ivan Gazidis is reportedly considering a raid on his former club Arsenal for Gennaro Gattuso’s replacement.

The Rossoneri have a burning desire to qualify for the Champions League next season, and one win in the last four Serie A matches has thrown that into jeopardy.

Gattuso’s job security is certainly not at the level it was a month ago, and there has even been speculation that he could be replaced regardless of a top four finish.

According to TMW Gazidis has a new idea for Gattuso’s potential successor. Having tried to lure Arsene Wenger to San Siro last December – failing due to the Frenchman’s doubts over length of contract and strategy for the January mercato – Gazidis is looking to the Gunners once again.

Now, Gazidis has reportedly probed the possibility of hiring Arsenal boss Unai Emery, who has helped guide his side to fifth in the Premier League table.

He would be a lot cheaper than Antonio Conte, who reportedly wants around €10m-a-year to return to Italy.

Meanwhile, Olympique Marseille boss Rudi Garcia was apparently ‘offered’ to Milan – but Leonardo is not be convinced of the feasibility of the operation.
