TMW: Milan weighing up Chaka Traore’s future as Serie A side enquire

By Oliver Fisher -

Chaka Traore has been shuttling between the first team and the Primavera this season, and there is a club in Serie A that are interested in making an offer to sign him.

It was back in April 2021, just a few months after he turned 16, that Traore made his Serie A debut against Milan for Parma and from there it became obvious that he was a talent destined for a high level.

The Rossoneri signed him that following summer and since the 2021-22 season he has made 53 appearances with the Primavera, in which he has scored 17 goals and provided eight assists. However, there have been rumblings about a loan spell so he can get consistent playing time.

He will turn 19 in one month and his only appearances in Serie A are the three games with Parma from two and a half years ago. According to TMW, Chaka recently renewed until 2028 and thus his long-term Milan future is not under threat but a loan could be considered.

Udinese are very interested in him, given that they made an enquiry in recent weeks about signing the Ivorian and it remains to be understood if the management will open up to the idea.

Stefano Pioli, in mid-October, explained how he was being targeted by the Rossoneri first team: “We follow Traorè with interest, like the other Primavera players.”

Leao, however, spoke about it like this in recent weeks. “He will be the future of Milan: I really like him.” The Primavera coach, Ignazio Abate, has already given him his consecration: “Can Chaka Traore arrive in Serie A? He has above-average quality and great physical skills. He can score 20 goals a year but he must find continuity.”

  1. Spend 20m on Chukwueze and sign Luka Romero (who isn’t even quick enough for the wing) for the bench or just use Traore?
