TMW: Milan still chasing midfield target but two forwards certain to leave

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are still working hard to try and sign Yunus Musah from Valencia but there is no doubt that both Ante Rebic and Divock Origi are going to be leaving the club this summer, a report claims.

As has been reported by TMW journalist Niccolo Ceccarini (via Milan News), despite the fact that Tijjani Reijnders and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have arrived to bolster the midfield, efforts are being made to sign another midfielder.

Having lost Sandro Tonali to Newcastle, Stefano Pioli appears committed to using a 4-3-3 formation. The club now has Tommaso Pobega, Ismael Bennacer, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Tijjani Reijnders and Rade Krunic as central midfielders, but work is still ongoing to buy Musah from Valencia.

It is not clear whether Milan need to sell players before they can buy Musah, but Rebic and Origi are at the top of the list and the club are working hard to sell the duo.

  1. Musah, from what I’ve seen from highlights is a good addition but idk if he is worth 20+ mil when we have Domingez that knows the league at our disposal for 15-18mil. I really think that we should go for Dominguez and if we sell origi and rebic then in January get Musah and GG.

  2. We definitely need one more midfielder if the aim is to play 4-3-3

With injuries, suspensions and form, I can’t see that just having Krunic, Pobega, RLC and Reijnders will be enough.

That said, whilst I’d like it to be Dominguez or Musah, if it is a loan signing late in the window instead I would understand. I would like to see Musah in a Milan shirt this year or next though.
