AC Milan seem to have clear ideas regarding the futures of midfield duo Tommaso Pobega and Yacine Adli, according to a report.
TMW writes that Pobega – who was the victim of a recent compound rib fracture in training which forced him to miss the match against Lecce – seems to have a future which is firmly at Milan.
The management and head coach Stefano Pioli consider him an important player for next season as well and he will be kept as part of the squad, and he was even handed a renewal until 2027 last year.
On the other hand, Yacine Adli could well make way after a difficult first season at Milan in which he has made only one start in the league.
He is in the sights of Salernitana, who are coached by Paulo Sousa who already knowns him since his time at Bordeaux and would gladly take him on loan.
Hopefully yes, he needs game time and will come back from loan as stronger.
I’m much more comfortable with the idea of Pobega than I was 2 months ago.
Pioli wants to use him as a DM. I noticed early against Bologna he was even forming part of a back 3 to cover for the left back. This is all quite foreign to Pobega who was probably more an attacking midfielder than anything.
He’s a big burly red head, so when you look at him you think he’s probably a mad DM in the mould of Gattuso. Coming to terms with a really differnt role is why I think he looked so bad early on.
He has show significant improvement against Empoli and Bologna. That’s what we need him for, relief for first choice starters in matches against weak league teams and tactical versatility. He’ll be useful squad depth moving forward.
