TMW: Milan consider fresh bid for ‘unhappy’ €40m Arsenal star Torreira

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan may go back in for Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira who is currently ‘not content’, according to a report.

There was persistent speculation in the summer that the Rossoneri were interested in reuniting Torreira with then head coach Marco Giampaolo.

Ultimately though he ended up staying as the Gunners reportedly slapped a price tag of €40million on the former Sampdoria man, despite it also being claimed the player wanted the move.

According to an update from TMW, Torreira is ‘not having a good time’ at Arsenal currently, as he is playing out of role and is subsequently a bit dissatisfied.

They describe the Uruguay international as ‘unhappy with his adventure in England’ and that a meeting is set for next week to discuss his future, and if his conditions are not met then a January exit could be on the cards.

The report mentions that in terms of interested clubs Milan would be ‘interested in taking advantage of the discontent’, and they will likely be keeping an eye on how talks over Torreira’s future progress.

Torreira was pictured in tears when now ex club captain Granit Xhaka – also reportedly a Milan target – stormed off the field to a chorus of jeers during a recent draw with Crystal Palace.

The 23-year-old has also previously admitted he much preferred life in Italy to living in England.

“I don’t know if there’s a lot of things that I’m enjoying [in England] because I think I liked living in Italy more,” he told reporters on international duty in June.

“London is a completely different world and England is a very big country.”
