TMW: Milan consider sacking Giampaolo; hiring club legend Shevchenko

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could make contact with Andriy Shevchenko regarding the idea of taking over as head coach, a report claims.

The Rossoneri’s crisis deepened on Sunday night as Fiorentina prevailed 3-1 at San Siro thanks to Erick Pulgar’s penalty plus goals from Gaetano Castrovilli and Franck Ribery.

The result makes it four defeats in six to start the season, something which hasn’t happened to Milan since 1938, and speculation has once again started up about Giampaolo’s position at the club.

On Monday, we revealed via our correspondent Vito Angele that while the former Sampdoria boss has the full backing of Maldini and Boban, Elliott Management want to see an improvement in results quickly.

According to a report from TMW, Ukraine national team head coach Andriy Shevchenko ‘could become more of an idea’ for the bench in light of the result against La Viola.

The club are currently in a state of reflection, the report claims, and Giampaolo’s future as Milan head coach is far from guaranteed.
