Five players are sitting on expiring contracts and while things could change, AC Milan have more or less made their decisions on them. Only one is expected to stay, as a report claims, while the other will say goodbye.
As highlighted by TuttoMercatoWeb, there are five players in the Milan squad whose contracts will expire at the end of the season. Antonio Mirante, Simon Kjaer, Mattia Caldara, Olivier Giroud and Luka Jovic are the players in question, with only the Frenchman expected to stay.
Milan are working on the renewal of the No.9, who has scored nine goals and assisted an additional six this season. He’s one of the few players who haven’t missed a game due to injury, which says a lot about the 37-year-old’s physique.
Simon Kjaer has previously expressed his desire to remain at Milan for the rest of his career. However, in recent years, he has been very injury prone and the Rossoneri are not that keen on taking a chance on the Dane.
A renewal for the centre-back may still be possible, but he would have to accept a significant pay cut and finish the rest of the season without injuries.
As for Jovic, he has scored in three consecutive games and Milan will have to monitor the rest of the season closely. If he can accept a deputy role for next season, then a renewal could perhaps be feasible again.
A post about nothing that says nothing. Great job, so insightful! Amazing journalism. Thank you for your work.
🤣
It’s called clicks… And it clearly worked on you because here you are stroking the keyboard… 🙂
If Jovic finds his Frankfurt form, I don’t see why he can’t be a protagonist.
Useless article. If Jovic outscores the immobile Giroud, he’ll take his place.
Not if Pioli is in charge.
Giroud another year and Jovic no ?
wow ….
Don’t let Kjaer leave you fools. As we learned with Ibra there is a lot more to someone’s value than their contribution in games.
