TMW: Milan Primavera star Eletu rejected offer of five-year renewal – the latest

It seems AC Milan will have a fight on their hands to keep hold of Primavera midfielder Victor Eletu after he rejected a deal, a report claims.

Eletu is one of the most interesting players in Milan’s Primavera side as we analysed in a feature over the World Cup break. He is mostly a deeper-lying midfielder, and he had a great December in which he netted a goal in a senior friendly and then extended his contract until 2025.

As an interested aside, that deal was negotiated and signed off by Ted Dimvula, the lawyer that was in talks with Milan over Rafael Leao’s extension which recently got over the line too.

According to what is being reported by TMW, Eletu’s intention is to take a step forward in his career after a great season with the Primavera and after his excellent performances at the U20 World Cup in Argentina for Nigeria.

For this reason, Eletu has for now refused the five-year renewal that Milan offered him which would kick in when he turns 18, thus making it his first professional deal.

As mentioned above, he is however contracted to the Rossoneri for another two years and if he does see his future elsewhere there will need to be a meeting with the leadership.

  1. You can’t blame him. Milan are singularly useless at developing youth talent. If he plays in Ligue 1 or the English Championship, he’ll be a star within 2 years (if he’s actually any good).

      1. Yup, Pioli is not the right coach for inexperienced talented young players and he also failed to get out the best of some players such as Adli, Cdk.
He will only consider the players with “experience” with senior team.
Primavera players are not in his mind.

  2. The money in football is so wild now that even 16 year olds are winding down their youth contracts so they can leave on a free at 18. Amazing.

  3. NO young player should want to play under Pioli. Who didn’t even give new signings a chance.. you think a noob has a shot? No way lol Eletu should wait for a year till Pioli gets fired.

  4. I hope everyone leaves
    I will be do happy
I have been Milan fan for 30 years
    Now i will stop forever
    I better be for Monza
    I hope every one leaves
    Pioli deserve shut

    1. a proper fan cant change his heart just like that.. Wishing the club you been supporting for 30 years to fail shows a lack of, well, everything. From spine to honour, from devotion to heart, im not even gonna mention brains. ups i did

  5. 2 years is enough time for Pioli to be replaced. There’s no need to worry about this now. Pioli will be under pressure to use the Primavera players simply because there isn’t enough money for many new signings.
