TMW: Milan enquire about unwanted Napoli midfielder – the situation

Michael Folorunsho isn’t on the best of terms with Antonio Conte and could thus leave Napoli this summer, according to a report. AC Milan are one of the teams that have enquired about the situation, looking to bolster their midfield.

Folorunsho, who was with Italy at the Euros, spent last season on loan at Hellas Verona and impressed everyone. However, he’s not had the best of starts with the new Napoli manager Conte, who is willing to let the midfielder leave this summer.

According to Marco Conterio of TuttoMercatoWeb, Milan are one of the clubs that have enquired about the situation. They want to understand the cost and feasibility of a potential move, but Youssouf Fofana remains the first choice.

In addition to the Rossoneri, the likes of Atalanta, Fiorentina and Lazio are also interested in the 26-year-old. The Bergamo side had a deal wrapped up but were forced to allocate their budget elsewhere when Gianluca Scamacca tore his ACL, signing Mateo Retegui from Genoa.

Milan and Paulo Fonseca are keeping an eye on the situation as they believe Folorunsho could play both in the tandem and as an attacking midfielder. For now, however, it seems more like a mercato opportunity rather than concrete interest.
