TMW: Milan plot January loan move for Chelsea defender

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are tempted to make an approach for Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile to secure a loan of the Frenchman for the rest of the season, a report claims.

As has been reported by TMW (via Milan News), Badiashile is low in the pecking order at Chelsea right now after arriving almost 18 months ago from Monaco.

He became a relatively important part of a stuttering team during the 2022/23 season, but he suffered a groin injury in May that has kept him out until recent weeks.

He was not very impressive against Newcastle in the 4-1 defeat at the weekend and fans seem happy with the idea of the Frenchman leaving the club.

Milan need to sign a new defender in January as they are lacking depth, which means that Badiashile is an attractive proposition.

They would want an option to make the deal permanent, but Chelsea paid €38m for him in 2022 which means any agreed fee could be very high.
