TMW: Milan expected to try sign Bournemouth and Montpellier duo in January

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are working on strengthening two areas of their squad during the January transfer window and there are two names that stand out, according to a report.

Nicolò Ceccarini relayed some information in his latest column for TMW, and he confirmed that there are two objectives in view of January: to sign a central defender and a new striker.

The interest in Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly is ‘extremely real’. The Rossoneri want to try land him in the winter given his deal expires at the end of the season, but at the moment there are no major openings from the Premier League club.

However, Kelly does not intend to renew with Bournemouth and for this reason the objective could be to try and agree personal terms ahead of a free transfer next June, to put a bit of pressure on the Cherries too. An alternative target is Finn van Breemen of Basel.

Milan are also working on the attack and the latest name is Akor Adams, Montpellier’s Nigerian striker who is 23 years of age. The management consider him a very interesting profile given he has seven league goals already, he is physically strong but also has pace.

The French club purchased him from Lillestrøm last summer for just over €4m and now he is ‘worth double’, but the operation remains within reach from an economic point of view and Milan ‘are seriously thinking about it’.
