TMW: Milan lead competitors in race for €15m-rated Gent winger

AC Milan are interesting in signing Matias Fernandez-Pardo and they currently lead a very congested race, according to a report.

TMW recently reported that Milan are following Fernandez-Pardo closely after an explosive end to the last season. He started only two games during the regular season for Gent but then in the play-offs he caught fire, scoring seven goals and adding two assists in 10 games at the age of just 19.

Now, the same source are stating that the Milan directors have had new contacts over the teenager, who in the meantime has also been sounded out by Roma and Lazio. The Rossoneri are ahead, because they began the discussions a while ago and they have become more concrete.

Fernandez-Pardo’s numbers have attracted the interest of the German champions Bayer Leverkusen who are also always attentive to young talent and have provided a launching pad for various players in the recent past. However, TMW state that Milan are ahead of the Bundesliga side too.

Gent value him at €15m which is deemed a high figure and that is why Geoffrey Moncada and co. have enlisted the help of intermediaries to try and lower the sum for a player who until March had only played 15 minutes in the first team.
