AC Milan appear to have made the decision not to sign Aster Vranckx on a permanent deal from Wolfsburg, a report claims.
The 20-year-old midfielder arrived on loan from Wolfsburg last summer but struggled for playing time under Stefano Pioli especially in the second half of the season, which had thrust his future into doubt.
Vranckx is currently with the Belgian national team and then there will be time to clarify what comes next. However, as reported by TMW, Milan have decided not to use the €12m option to buy they inserted as part of the loan, but they do have until June 16 to change their mind.
The midfielder has already had enquiries from Premier League clubs and the Bundesliga side expect to get €12m from the sale of Vranckx, especially given that he is expected to be one of the protagonists of the U21 European Championships with Belgium over the summer.
If he and CDK do well this summer, it will look terrible on Milan’s decision to change management directions to favour people who could not get the best out of them.

They have a couple of years to pan out. Usually, when 1 out of 5 transfers for young players pan out, you achieve a successful recruitment. We got that already with Thiaw at 7 million. So CDK and Aster are house money at this point. They are already paid for if they are mistakes. Pioli should be responsible for that. He used Brahim instead of our own players, then we lost those investments in time abd loan fees for nothing. He ahould pay for it. But he won’t speak out, he will kiss butt to save his job. Maldini never had to do that and never will.

Great question. It’s so weird, all good things seem to be Moncada but failures are Maldini. But anyways, I hope they get it right this time around because everyone is looking for a muck up. There’s no scapegoat this time around, adds pressure
Talented player. This is one we will regret in a few seasons. Never had a chance. Has all the physical tools and skill to become a very good player. Just like Adli, Pioli never gave him a chance. Good luck Aster
