AC Milan are in need of a couple of midfielders this summer amid the imminent departure of Sandro Tonali and the injury of Ismael Bennacer. The latest name on their list is Feyenoord star Mats Wieffer.
Wieffer was one of the highlights for Feyenoord in their title-winning run this past season, starting every game in the second half of the season except one due to suspension. He amassed one goal and five assists in the league, playing in a defensive midfield role.
According to TMW’s Marco Conterio, Milan have opened talks with both Feyenoord and Weiffer’s entourage to understand what the cost of the operation would be. The Rossoneri intend to bring in at least two midfielders this summer, and the 23-year-old could become a concrete target.
Another midfielder in the Eredivisie that Milan have been linked with is AZ Alkmaar’s Tijjani Reijnders. When Geoffrey Moncada took over Paolo Maldini’s responsibilities, these are the type of players that the fans expected to be linked with.
