It seemed as though the track leading AC Milan to Lucas Torreira had gone cold, but now an update has provided hope.
Despite persistent speculation that the Rossoneri are very interested in reuniting Torreira with new head coach Marco Giampaolo at San Siro, a number of reports claimed that Arsenal have no intention of selling.
It was even believed that sporting director Frederic Massara, along with Paolo Maldini and the rest of Milan’s leadership are now examining other options as they are determined to give Giampaolo a new midfielder to aid the 4-3-1-2 system he wishes to implement.
Now, a report from TMW (via MilanNews.it) claims that there have been further contacts between Milan and Torreira’s agent during which the club re-iterated their desire to sign the Uruguay star.
However, due to the fact Milan are currently ‘economically incapacitated’, the Diavolo made it clear that they must first raise cash and then make their move for Torreira.
At the moment there have been no concrete negotiations, although Giampaolo would certainly welcome the idea of working with the 23-year-old again.
