TMW: Real Madrid loanee’s impact often overlooked – Milan could extend loan deal

By Isak Möller -

In the summer transfer window, Milan decided to bring in both Diogo Dalot and Brahim Diaz on dry loans from Man Utd and Real Madrid respectively. But despite many appearances, the future remains uncertain for both.

TuttoMercatoWeb, in one of their latest pieces, took stock of Brahim Diaz’ chances of staying with the Rossoneri beyond this season. The class of the player isn’t disputed, and although his strength is quite there yet, he has been promising.

However, as the report continues, it’s not certain that the Rossoneri will bet on him again. Stefano Pioli has mostly used the attacking midfielder as a substitute, in the trequartista role or on either wings.

In total, he has played 1251 minutes and has three goals in the Europa League, as well as one goal and three assists in Serie A. And there are some very important performances there too, such as the draw against Verona and the win against Torino.

As of today, Diaz is on loan from Real Madrid and his future will be subject to a discussion for the Milan management. The Bernabeu side want €20-25m to sell him and the hypothesis of renewing the loan deal still stands.

There are also other opportunities, as Milan are evaluating Florian Thauvin of Marseille and even Otavio of Porto. But as said, Diaz’ season will be evaluated towards the end of the season.
