AC Milan have put out a video showing the incredible support of the fans who gathered at Milanello on Saturday in their thousands.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, there were 4,000 fans present or possibly even more to cheer on the team in their training session yesterday. The Curva Sud led a procession with its flags and drums, and then lined the outsides of the training pitches.
The scene was impressive, and the team couldn’t help but appreciate it. The players, with captain Mike Maignan in the front row, went to meet the fans on the driveway at Milanello. Chants, applause from the fans, scenes straight out of the 1990s, or perhaps 2022: Stefano Pioli’s Scudetto.
Why did AC Milan fans flock to Milanello? The ban on away fans from Lombardy for the game in Naples prompted the fans to rally around the team, to show their support before the match that could decide how much is to play for in this season finale.
With a win, the Scudetto race will be very much on, otherwise they’ll have to try and wrestle back second at best. A significant message, considering the fans didn’t attend the raduno (first day of preseason) in the summers of 2025 and 2024.
