GdS: Milan could make new bid for teenage midfielder who ‘reads the game three seconds early’

AC Milan have their scouts looking at talent both abroad and also domestically, and one player who has caught their eye is young Cesena midfielder Tommaso Berti.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Milan tried to sign the 17-year-old Berti in the summer and could try once again because they like what they see. Cesena boss William Viali has fielded him in a number of positions such as at the base of the midfield, as a mezzala and as a playmaker.

The report stats that he has good technique, is good with both feet and ‘reads the game three seconds early’ as per his agent, Angelo Rea. He has been called the ‘the Italian Gavi’ and is regarded as a very complete midfielder considering he is only 17, which is of course a very bold comparison but there are similarities.

Among professionals in Italy, Berti is the player who has the most senior minutes of anyone born in 2004, with 439 spread over 14 games (5 as a starter). He is a player ‘with football in his blood’ and is a ‘pearl of rare quality’, which has attractive the interest of the Rossoneri.
