Fikayo Tomori

Reports: Tomori exit ‘in the final stages’ as Spurs present €30m bid to Milan – the latest

In the past hour, things have changed quite quickly with Fikayo Tomori, and the AC Milan defender looks set to depart to Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.

The Tomori situation has been quite turbulent this month, as today has shown. Initially, a move to Juventus was likely, but with Sergio Conceicao’s arrival, it became clear that this was very much not on the cards. However, the move was not called off.

Instead, the club continued to listen to offers from the Old Lady, which frustrated Conceicao, proving that the defender was still able to leave if a suitable offer arrived, and tonight, it seemingly has.

Sky (via Milan News) write that Tottenham Hotspur have followed up on their interest from yesterday, and presented a bid in excess of €30m, including bonuses, to the club this evening. However, talks are still ongoing.

In the minutes after that, Daniele Longo reported that the deal is now in the ‘final stages’ which again shows how quickly this deal has moved.

As a result, the club will now need to make a replacement signing ‘in record time’ if things go through, however, with the reports flying out this evening, it seems like it will only be a matter of time before the Englishman returns to London.

  1. Some people here get their wishes. So Milan will sell one of our “starter” CB’s, is it because of founding getting Gimenez? Who are we getting to replace Fik, while Gabbia and Thiaw are injured?

    1. Chill , I don’t believe while he leave. It’s always, Morata , Okafor , Tomori, Calabria , they all leave this club all month and still all they are here. And according some news we soon buy few players and still there is only Walker . I don’t think he leave.

  2. Chill , I don’t believe while he leave. It’s always, Morata , Okafor , Tomori, Calabria , they all leave this club all month and still all they are here. And according some news we soon buy few players and still there is only Walker . I don’t think he leave..

  3. Hasn’t Conceaio already said that Walker can play CB? We know Theo can play there from last year and Jimenez/Bartesghi/Terracino can all play LB if needed.

Can always go after Kiwior and close that saga or go after some young Italian CB like Comuzzo from Fiorentina.

Currently, we do not have one CB ranked in the top-75 which is embarassing considering the legends that have walked the grounds at San Siro (Maldini, Baresi, Nesta, Silva, Costacurta, etc.)

€35M with bonuses to take it €40M and I’d help him pack his bags.

    1. I doubt that Walker as CB will work right away. Obviously, adaptation is needed, especially as Italian football is very tactical. But more than that, he usually played in 3-man defence and had to other CBs covering him. This has shown to be an issue for Milan. Even a player of Bonucci’s calibre struggled for a half season before getting a grip. Not to mention Caldara, who eventually got his potential destroyed due to this problem. Both were too used as the central defender in back three.

  4. Who overhaul a team in mid season, even took d whole season @ city b4 he could instill his Idea on d players & the ones dat wasn’t able to get along he sold d following season. Dis is a very bad idea from d management

    1. Yep, that’s my question too. I feel like they’re OK sacrificing the derby to turnover the squad in the last days of the window. Clearly Tomori’s sale now instead of in the summer has been precipitated by Royal’s injury and Okafor’s failed transfer, as we need need to raise funds to sign Gimenez. Somebody (or somebodies) had to leave so that Gimenez could come in. No money came in for Okafor and Royal, so instead it’s Morata and Tomori, because they have markets. So hold on to your hat, because it looks like our CB pair for the derby demolition we are about to receive is going to be Pavlovic and Walker!

      1. Tomori is gonna start, get injured like Royal and then proceed to not be sold.
The way this management works, you can almost bet on stuff like this happening.

  5. Do you people watch football matches or u just sit home playing fifa. U prefer we sell tomori and replace him wit Disasi. av u watched this guy play at chelsea my five year old plays much better than him

    1. The names people bring up to replace Tomori are wild.. Dragusin, Disasi etc
In my eyes, i can’t see any CB out there who are affordable and replace him

  6. I still need to ask. Camarda Morata and tomori out. Who’s coming in? Gimenez has been ‘close’ for two days now. The midfield still needs something and if we’re losing a cb we need a cb with nobody mentioned. All with four days left they want to make big moves? You guys made a huge mistake in the summer. This can potentially be the final nail in the coffin.

  7. 30 mil for our worst CB? By all means. This will also give more chances to actually use the youth players instead of always finding an excuse to play tomori

  8. I no longer believe a single thing I read on this site. SHould we go thru the list of players they have reported as “hours away” from leaving:
Emerson – Still here and if it were true why would they have been playing him that day.
    Pavlovic – Still here
    Jovic – Still here
    Morata – Still here
and now Tomori, when we only have 2 healthy CB’s available for the Derby on Sunday?

    1. I do agree that all of this seem bizarre, but what do we know ?
Morata, Tomori and I think Emerson contacts with other clubs were reported by Romano who isn’t the type to throw random rumors. That doesn’t mean a transfer is a sure thing, but at least we know the club is open to let these players leave and the players themselves are open to leave as well.
But I guess we should wait and see.

  9. 30 mil for Tomori is a good chunk of change.

But has anyone checked how many fit CB’s we have left? Pavlo! Thiaw… wait no. Ah, Gabb… no wait. He’s hurt. Uhm…. Walker! That’s right! Walker will play RB AND CB. At the same time.

We’re good everyone. Cut The Fik loose.

  10. “welcome Kyle… glad you’re here. Now listen, we need you to play as both right-back and both centre-backs. In the same game. But don’t worry, Rafa and João will press so hard you’ll not have to do any work.”

  11. There’s still time for this piece of garbage to ruin things, he hasn’t agreed to the deal. We should make it clear he has no future here. Tomori out.

  12. It’s fair to say that Furlani and co are panicking after hearing their job is on the line after this season. Fan put pressure, they are on panick mode. Which is making things worse.

  13. Folks still think he has something to offer us. For every good game, he has 5 bad ones. He’s way too inconsistent. And at this stage, his value will only decline.

  14. don’t be silly. let’s sell Tomori, we all know what’s the reason.
    .
we don’t find replacement? in this transfer window it could be difficult. but it’s management fault. Danilo from Juve was for free and he is the leader. but don’t worry. always we could find some permanent or temporary option. for me first, permanent option is Igor Zubeldia. temporary option? Hermoso from AS Roma (with chance to be permanent).
