DAZN: Tomori, Maignan, Ibrahimovic and Maldini all involved in confrontation – the reconstruction

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan managed a third consecutive victory for away against Cagliari thanks to a beautiful goal from Ismael Bennacer, but at the end of the match there was a heated confrontation between the players.

According to DAZN (via SempreMilan.it), Tomori and Maignan were celebrating the result at full-time and they were showered with racist insults from the fans which consequently ignited a dispute. The goalkeeper was targeted with bottles and other objects from the crowd and as the English defender went over to embrace him, the abuse began.

The result was a ‘brawl’ in which Zlatan Ibrahimovic (who was among the most heated) also intervened, and he was then separated from the Cagliari players by the prompt intervention of Maldini and Stefano Pioli.

Everything then returned to a state of relative calm thanks also to the diplomatic work of Keita Balde who was among the first to throw water on the fire.

  1. Who cares, they’re idiots and low lives who do this. Beat them by winning and showing them their insults mean nothing. Loser fans.
