Di Marzio: Tomori ‘only thinking about the derby’ as he rejects Tottenham move

Fikayo Tomori has had heaps of interest in him this season, and AC Milan accepted a bid for the defender last night. However, he will seemingly not depart.

The start of the window was hectic for Tomori. Initially, he was due to leave, and in the weeks prior, all signs suggested that this would be the case. However, a move to Juventus did not get the green light, so the parties continued.

Despite their rejection, the Old Lady persisted in their interest, but the Englishman remained at the club.

In the final days of the mercato, Tomori was once again sought after, this time from Premier League clubs Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur, and offers have arrived from both clubs, though the one from the Midlands was rejected.

For Spurs though, their bid was accepted, leaving the decision to Tomori about his future, however, Gianluca Di Marzio (via Milan Eye) reports that the Englishman has rejected the advances of the London club.

Instead, his thoughts are ‘only on the derby’, with ‘no intention of leaving Milan’. His decision was not instant and the defender reportedly took some time to think about his decision, but he has opted against a return back to London.

  1. Not sure what to think of this. I mean, when he plays well he’s good. But for 30M€, we could fix the midfield and replacing him would be easy even with a 5M€ budget as he’s not THAT good (or consistent).

  2. 30 million for our 4th CB is a no brainer, especially considering our current backups for attack. If this transfer would have funded a move for felix it’s a damn shame it didn’t go through

      1. Yeah, and we could replace him with 5-7 million CB if we wanted to. I’m tired of seeing Juve, Inter, Atalanta ect … using well known names as their subs in their games while we use teenagers

    1. I agree, i like him but he is past his prime and messured by performance he is our 4th CB. Bartesagni could have easily filled his position as a 4th back up. Will prob have trouble of getting rid of him if he rejects Totenham. Get ready for another Origi.

        1. Ya you actually said we should not sign any more BLACK French players – you racist pig

Go crawl back into your hole donkey

  3. Cant blame him for not wanting to join a team that is coming 14th in the table. Despite our dismal season joining spurs is a downgrade for him. What should of happened was we should have sold him in summer to Newcastle when they offered 35-40m. At this stage its better to keep him and push for top 4. That way if he regains his form then either he can regain his place in starting xi or his value will rise for summer.

    1. His form is not better than where Gabia, Thiaw and Pavlovic are now. Using 30mil for mid is what would have actually helped us to get 4th spot. Another fail from management.

      1. Agreed but we didnt have to sell Tomori to fund Ricci or other mids if they didnt spend stupid money on Emerson, Chukaweze or loaned out Pobega/Adli with option to buy. Both proved they are good players that never found their rhythm here. That is likely due to the dysfunctional nature of our club.

  4. No need to rush over one of the pillars few years ago. And no need to undervalue him. Our defense is not great, and will for sure get worse if Tomori leaves. Plus, if we are to play high line, he is the best we have.
