Tomori insists one point vs. Salzburg is ‘good’ but admits Milan ‘can do better’

Fikayo Tomori put in a decent performance during AC Milan’s 1-1 draw against RB Salzburg, looking like his usual self. For the Rossoneri, it was a decent start to the Champions League campaign.

Stefano Pioli’s men were prepared for a tough game at Salzburg this evening and that’s exactly what they got. Although Milan hit the post in the dying seconds, a draw was a fair result and at least they didn’t start with a defeat.

Speaking to MilanTV, as cited by MilanNews, Tomori shared his thoughts on the game and admitted that they can do even better. However, he was happy with the one point claimed as every point matters in this competition.

On the game…

“It was a match like the one we expected. They are strong when it comes to pressing, fast in front, they know how to go deep. I think we played well, we can do better obviously, but a point here is difficult to claim. So we are happy, but we can do better.”

Milan came back from behind…

“If we are behind we can catch up. It’s better to not concede a goal, but we don’t put our heads down when we go behind.”

The group is more complicated than we thought…

“We knew it would be difficult. Claiming a point in Salzburg is good. We played well, but not at our level. The next match, against Dinamo Zagreb, we have to do better and yes, we can qualify.”

Milan will take on Sampdoria in their next game (Saturday) and then they will face Dinamo Zagreb at home the following Wednesday. An opportunity for them to claim the first win of the UCL campaign, in other words.
