Tomori discusses ‘positive pressure’ for Milan: “We can do something special”

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have kept clean sheets four games in a row and a big reason for that is the stability of Fikayo Tomori. Indeed, the centre-back has been brilliant and he’s also optimistic in the Scudetto race.

The Rossoneri are currently three points ahead of Napoli and six points ahead of Inter, who have a game in hand. They have everything in their own hands, therefore, and the defenders will have to continue their great work.

Speaking to Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, Tomori shared his thoughts on the current situation and the pressure they are under. After all, they are close to the Scudetto for the first time since the 2011/12 season, after failing to keep up last term.

On the season…

“We are doing very well this season and the fact that the manager, the players and the staff make me feel really comfortable and welcome, helps me to play my best football. Now everything is going well and we hope to make it a good year.”

On the pressure of the Scudetto race…

“I think it’s a kind of positive pressure, we’re in a situation where we can do something special, so yeah, there’s tension, but the kind of pressure that makes you have fun. We have to get results, we have to win, we have the opportunity to do something great,” he concluded.

Milan will face Bologna after the international break and Tomori will be one of the well-rested players, seeing as he didn’t get a call-up by England. And hopefully that will end up benefitting the Rossoneri.
