AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori has admitted that the nightmarish start to the game against Inter really set the tone for the rest of a disappointing game.
Milan have left themselves with a mountain to climb as they were beaten 2-0 by Inter at San Siro in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final, which means they need a minor miracle next week if they are to recover and progress to the final.

The Rossoneri never really recovered after a terrible opening 12 minutes to the game in which Edin Dzeko first fired Inter ahead with a first-time finish from a corner and then Henrikh Mkhitaryan parted the defence like the Red Sea to make it 2-0.
Tomori spoke to Amazon Prime Video after the game to try and dissect what was a difficult night for the team, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.
Where did this defeat come from?
“From the beginning. We conceded those two goals quickly. A team like Inter is difficult to come back against. It’s only the first game and we need to recover and do better in the next one.”
What are your thoughts on the goals conceded?
“Hard to say, I haven’t seen them yet. We are disappointed to have lost, we could have done better especially in the beginning. It’s just the first, we have to do better.”
How can it be changed?
“We have to believe we can reach the final. We know they are strong but we know that if we play as we know how, with intensity and quality in the last pass and shooting, we can put them in difficulty. We are disappointed but it is only the first game.”

Firstly, let’s congratulate the team on getting this far in Champions League. Winning Scudetto one season and reaching CL semi final is already an over achievement of this squad.
Now, let’s admit that it’s over for us and move on. Inter will atleast get a goal which means we would atleast 3 goals to get to extra time. And I don’t see this Milan team scoring 3 goals against Inter. Milan were poor in forward movements today and possession was mostly due to back passes and in defensive half. Shooting and finishing was even worse than forward passes. Don’t understand why our players keep falling to draw free kicks. It’s not like we are good with free kicks and corners.
We will probably also lose/draw against Spezia as well as our players are already exhausted.

Stranger things have happened. Milan won 3-0 against Deportivo back in the days and somehow managed to lose 4-0 away. It’s not over yet.
Or? Real Madrid knocking, Manchester City out last season? Yes 2 goal deficit is, insurmountable.. But the question is? If the players, believe in themselves or not?
How many teams have we beaten 4-0 this season, are we a free scoring team. Incase you haven’t noticed we have a nonchalant team (sorry to say) but that’s the truth. Have you seen our team attitude when we are 1-0 up? Disgusting everyone turns to Messi with over dribbling and wanting to overdo.

I as a fan, believe we can turn this around! As I said, do the players believe in themselves or not? Especially given, our second half performance, and with Rafael Leao hopefully being back, anything is possible..
