Sandro Tonali has insisted that AC Milan are ‘made to win’ and must take advantage of having a clean slate against Benevento.
Milan need to get back to winning ways as soon as possible having lost back-to-back games. The Rossoneri suffered damaging defeats against Sassuolo and Lazio in their last two outings, with the most recent being a 3-0 hiding at the Stadio Olimpico on Monday night which saw the team drop to fifth.
The loss left a sour taste in the mouth but Milan know that their fate is in their own hands with direct clashes against Juventus and Atalanta before the end of the campaign, though first relegation-threatened Benevento will pay visit.
Tonali spoke to Milan TV before the game against Benevento, insisting that the game provides a clean slate for him and his team-mates, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.
“We started from scratch, we did it as a team, with a head and we are ready to bring out the energy that the coach asks for. Same spirit as Rio Ave? It would be ideal, but it is another game that has another importance and we will do our best to bring home the three points,” he said.
On Benevento: “We will play our game as we have always done, not looking at anyone. Benevento comes here to win, but we are made for these matches and we are made to win, so we will continue on our way.”
Tonali was interviewed by DAZN as well: “The mood is the same as always, we are Milan and a defeat like the one on Sunday does not bring us down. Milan are a great team and will prove it as we have always done in this season “
Do you like playing in the rain? “We haven’t seen him much this year, it’s nice to play in the rain on a wet pitch.”
