Sandro Tonali and Newcastle United have sent a message regarding the future by extending his contract, a report claims.
According to Sky Sports in the UK, Tonali’s contract has been extended until 2029, with Newcastle also having the option of an additional year. When he signed from Milan the initial deal ran until 2028, so it shifts the deadline back by at least a year.

The journalist Keith Downie also reports that the Italian midfielder agreed the deal in secret during his ban for illegal betting, to protect Newcastle financially with them having not been able to use him for 10 months.
The 25-year-old now has three-and-a-half years left on his deal, with the option of one more. Downie stated: “Good news for Newcastle fans who were worried the club could be forced to sell Tonali next summer.”

The Milan speculation
Ever since he left Milan in the 2023 summer window, there has been talk that he may wish to return one day. Matteo Moretto’s recent comments regarding Tonali’s fate and a possible future at Milan certainly sparked a bit of intrigue.
“Tonali’s comments have fuelled the imagination of many fans, especially in Italy and especially at AC Milan: he’s always left the door open to his return to the Rossoneri. I want to tell you the most likely scenario right now, considering it’s mid-October,” he said.
“At the moment, it’s practically impossible to imagine Tonali leaving Newcastle in January; we’ll discuss it again in June: the interested clubs will have to work on it for next year.
There are obvious financial hurdles to be overcome if Milan were to bring Tonali back, even down the line given he will be in his prime years. Juventus have always been linked, but for now he is staying put.

Tonali makes over €7 million a year, more tham anybody on Milan. He’s not coming back.
Huge disappointment, if he ever returns for AC Milan he will be in his early to mid 30ies.
Whoever decided to sell him should be pelted with rocks and stones and I’m not even trying to be funny here.
Man its business. People complain that we dont sell for big. People complain when we sell for big..
I do not know. Like Tonali would be great in our squad, but the train is long gone. You wont get him back by posts like this, but you know what you already got? You got the record millions from his sale. I still think it was a good trade, pelt me with rocks and stones now.
If it was just business I would find myself something else to use my time on. I’m by NO extent a religious man, AC Milan is my religion. I don’t give a damn about selling our best players I want to keep them and Improve while they stays with us.
What a bunch of nonsense you keep writing where the hell did I say we would get him back because of my comment ? No place. Apparently you care much more about business than football and that’s fine but sure come and stand in front of me and I will gladly crack your head with a rock Wallstreet boy.
Extending the deal with Magpies because of his 10 month ban just shows his character. Unlike some who promised to extend and then left for free.
When I read that possibility of him coming to Milan with current management/owner still present , I just farted Hard.
Praising the character of a player who got banned from playing football because he was illegally betting on games he played and coerced other players to do the same.
He put another stain on Italian football but extending his contract for extra year shows that he has a better character than players who didn’t do anything wrong but didn’t extend their contracts and left for free.
You forgot to call him a gambling degenerate. And don’t you have some Maldini blaming and Gabbia hating to do? You’re slacking.
Same ol’ teddy bear. Get exposed for the nonsense he wrote and moves the goal post, starts talking about something else instead of addressing the comment.
Let me break it down for you so your can understand.
Newcastle spent around 70 mil for Tonali. Gave him 5 year contract paying him 7 or 9 mil. A month later they found out that Tonali is going to be banned from playing football because of something illegal he did at his previous club and be absolutely useless to them for a year. They still support him and continue paying him his salary. If you going to praise someone’s character, it should be the Newcastle people not the degenerate gambler.
They offered him to extend his contract for extra year while he was useless to them because he owed them a year. What was the show of Tonali’s character? He is getting paid even though he is suspended for his own stupidity that had nothing to do with Newcastle, and then he is offered to get another year of guaranteed money on top of it.
On the other side you take a shot at players who actually showed character. I’m assume you talked about Gigio, Hakan and Kessie. Even though they were not happy with their contracts and their salaries, they still behaved like a grown men and perform to the best of their abilities until the last second while they were under contract, helping the team qualify for the UCL plus in Kessie case win the scudetto. Thats character.
They didn’t act like h0es, like another player whose character you would probably praise, Theo Hernández, who sabotaged Milan season, got coaches fired, was the worst defender in the league and got Milan single handedly knocked out of the UCL, because he wasn’t happy with his contract.
Take a look at Maignan. Another player who isn’t happy with his salary, who agreed to a contract and the offer got pulled from the table, who asked to leave and they still kept him, he continues to act like a grown man and a true professional. Not creating problems.
The difference between the players who you say don’t have a good character and the degenerate gambler whose character you praise is that they didn’t owe their club anything, while the degenerate gambler owed Newcastle.
BTW you forgot to mention that I said that Ricci cant pass the ball forward. I stand behind my takes until I get proven wrong. I don’t switch up based on what suits my agenda for the day.
Ah yes, here you are with usual hate for our players, that’s what I wanted to see. All this jibberish because you cannot take ones comment. Why are you triggered about an online opinion?
You really took Hakan, Donna and Kessie as an example of players with character? One plays in Arabia because he’s a money grabbing h*e, and other two have disputes with their club and former club. Some character. Oh and to correct you, Tonali did not get paid for the time he was banned. So again, you’re talking out of your behind as usual. The hate is strong in you, I do wonder where that derives from. Gambler in family?
Guys, it is an absolute waste of time. We have a team well balanced and worthy of Scudeto. January is around the corner, and once we win the title so is the summer transfer window.
Keep calm and enjoy, we ha e Tare niw and Allegri for whom i stand corrected.
Forza Milan
Enjoy the show Tonali
