Tonali: “The Champions League is an inexplicable emotion” – video

AC Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali has labelled it an ‘inexplicable emotion’ to represent the club on the biggest stage of all: the Champions League.

Milan face off against Spurs tonight in the second leg of their last 16 tie in the Champions League hoping to capitalise on the fact they have a 1-0 lead from the first leg back at San Siro. Tonali should start the game in north London and he spoke to Milan TV before the game, with SempreMilan.it transcribing his comments.

“When Milan played in the Champions League they were an incredible team. It was a great Milan, in Europe and in Italy. It was something special,” he said.

“The Champions League is an inexplicable emotion. I remember many things from 2007, between emotions and celebrations. After too many years it’s not good not to be in the Champions League.

“It’s nice to come back to play and win again. It was strange to go from fan to player. It wasn’t easy at first, then I managed to separate the two things.”
