Report: Torino targeting Milan centre-back as replacement for outgoing Bremer

By Oliver Fisher -

Torino are considering AC Milan defender Matteo Gabbia to potentially replace the outgoing Gleison Bremer, according to a report.

According to what is being reported by TorinoGranata.it, Bremer will depart at the end of the season and that leaves a big gap in the heart of the defence that needs filling, with head coach Ivan Juric asking that the Brazilian be properly replaced.

However, one of their targets – Nicolo Casale of Hellas Verona – will not arrive and will probably be sold to Lazio, which is why there are two other targets currently playing in Serie A that are being considered.

The first is Gunter, a former protégé of Juric in his time with Verona, while the other name is young Milan centre-back Matteo Gabbia who continues to struggle for playing time given the options ahead of him.

Whether an official approach is made and whether Milan are open to letting him leave remains to be seen.

  1. loan him out for free for a year or two with no option to buy but with an option to terminate the deal if he isnt fielded enough. Should help him to develope and also hand torino a better opportunity to act in other parts of the squad and then a bit down the road he would at minimum help the quota for cl with us. Its not like we will be able to fetch a great sum for him currently so a loan would make the most sense to me as he just need some more matches under his belt to further develope.

    1. Agreed. But I think we want Botman instead…just hope Inter doesn’t get Bremer, he is a monster of a defender
