There wasn’t much to write home about in AC Milan’s friendly defeat to Arsenal, but Lorenzo Torriani’s showing was certainly one positive aspect.
Reports at the end of May suggested that Torriano might not even come on the preseason tour because Milan were lining up a loan deal for the 20-year-old, to aid his development after a season spent mostly as a third choice.

Torriani came on for the final 24 minutes of the game, and he was called into action on several occasions to deny an Arsenal side that were looking to kill the game off. He denied Martin Odegaard and Reiss Nelson with fantastic stops, but the one on Mikel Merino was the highlight.
In the end his stat line reads as follows: 24 minutes played, 5 saves, 10/10 (100%) accurate passes, 5/5 (100%) accurate long balls and 3 penalties saved. He was the hero of the shootout by keeping the Gunners at bay, allowing Christian Comotto to score the winner.

Well well well. If only more trust would be given these youngsters. But you say youngsters when most of them are turning 20 by now.
At this point, if I’m to be selfish, what I would advise is they should follow Kerkez’s example

Milan always produce fantastic GK from his youth sector. Torriani already show it. He already have the talent like Plizzari. Milan should give him game time this season to level up his skill. With maignan on his final year contract, Milan should believe in torriani. Low salary, no need budget transfer + homegrown player
Should have cased in on Maignan and trust him. He played very well last year pre season too. He would have well developed if he plays. Just let him go on loan. I don’t think Maignan will extend his contract
