During this season, AC Milan fans have not been afraid to show their emotions to the players, management and head coach, but it reached a boiling point this week.
Against Bologna, we saw a glimpse of what things could be like with another poor result, and when the Curva Sud announced another protest, this time for the game against Lazio, there were no surprises.
It has not been a shock to hear areas of the ground protest this season, whether it be against Gerry Cardinale, the head coach or even players, but Sunday’s was much different. An empty start, then met with roars of “Cardinale devi vendere, vattene”, a really telling message.
With every mistake from there on out, as Calciomercato.com reports, the players were greeted with a ‘rain of whistles’, and there was no generosity. In fact, the loudest cheer of the night, barring the goal, came for Strahinja Pavlovic during his sending off, because at least he showed the fans a bit of something.
Elsewhere, the reactions were not as prominent.
Rafael Leao and Theo Hernandez were both booed heavily, and whilst the Frenchman ignored it, Leao did everything but that, following his assist, he cupped his ears and then posted a statement stating ‘everyone’ was against the team.
Whilst Christian Pulisic tried to rally his teammates and the crowd into something positive, it had no effect, but he was not greeted with the same reaction that met his teammates.
The report finishes with a terrifying admission, for Milan, it is now themselves against everyone, rather than everyone for the Rossoneri. An infectious and toxic indication of where things are.
That you protest against the club is fine and should be done. But don’t boo the players and whistle with every mistake.
Exactly 💯
Why not? They deserve every single whistle they get. They are being paid a LOT of money to play and instead they are lazy and uninterested in doing so. Leao, Theo and Maingan are the cancer of this team – look at them, none of them care about the team or the score. Do you ever see Maingan yell at his defenders? No! Good goalkeepers always yell at their defenders for making mistakes and let them know they are at fault. Get rid of Mike, Theo and Leao and start building a team from scratch. Bring up some promising youngsters up for rest of the season so they get some playing time and be more reason for next season. DO NOT even think of signing Felix permanently, there is a reason he is being shopped around. Make Walker a captain since he has leadership qualities and experience.
With that said, we have terrible management so I am not sure they will do any of these things. Caedinale should fire them all and bring people who actually know what they are doing. Where did Furlani even come from??? Moncada should be sent back to France and never allowed into Italy again. Ibra is a waste of money, he doesn’t do anything. I know Cardinale won’t do it but if he wanted to gain back the trust of the club, he would beg Maldini to come back along with Massara and Boban. We need people in charge who love Milan and know what it means to wear Milan shirt.
Theo, Leao and Mangian should go before next season. Currently the team is better without them and management should downgrade their contract to help them move on. More Italian players are needed and less foreigners. Milan were most successful when half the squad on the pitch were Italian. Forza Milan
We trust the players and the coach. We’re done enough with redbird, Cardinale, all director and advisor that create toxic environment
Pffff for the likes of lazy ass Leao and being the highest paid player in the squad for having such an attitude ofc he deserves the whistle.
The fans who paid the expensives tickets to watch good performances has the right to criticizes the players, manager, and the owner for showing them awful performances one after another.
Of course they have the right. No one disputes that. But it is such a juvenile and simplistic mindset to do this. It doesn’t help the situation. It makes a bad situation worse. I’ve never understood why someone would pay money and spend time going to a stadium, to see something you profess to love, only to further cause a negative atmosphere to persist.
True talk bro
of course you have the right to criticize the players, and to boo them. just like you have the right to put a stick down your an.us. but, you wouldnt normally do it, cause you only hurt yourself. – the players are still getting their money and you see your team stuck in negativity. bravo, very clever thing to do.
Leao and Theo have no place to be complaining about anything. Those 2 can’t even be bothered to track back and help the team at all. Lazy ahh mfs and have the nerve to demand to be the best paid at the club with immunity to criticism. Isaken made Leao look like he was the wish version of Nani by comparison, and Theo looked like he was 1/4th the player Tavares was yesterday. The difference between players who actually have a desire to win versus our lazy Left side…
Yup, 100% correct! Leao, Theo and even Maingan are the cancer of this team – all need to be sold in the summer.
thats the actual problem. its not about tactics or anything related to the game itself. if players feel mistrust and negativity from their own ‘supporters’ its very hard to do a turnaround. this cannot be fixed by any coach, it can only be fixed by Cardinale and the management – next investment shouldnt be in any player, but in the fanbase – fair ticket prices to start with. the team is good, the coach is good. if they dont have to fight their own supporters, then they can fight for any title (even UCL)
I’ve always wondered why Theo doesn’t play striker or attacking midfield. He has amazing attacking skills but he is mediocre in defense. You need defenders who hold their defensive positions. So play four guys who will stay back. Play Leo up front, too. Make him carry the ball forward. Don’t waste him on defense. New signings in the middle of the year are disastrous to the attack because attack is always about communication. This has to be built from many hours of playing together. A good coach has to build that camaraderie.
Being overrated is one thing, add lazy and it is time to sell
The equivalent of yelling at the waiter at a restaurant. Never makes your next dish taste better.
Couldnt have said it better!Edward
I thought the team played with more passion than they had shown in a while. The defense let in two goals but the offense created many excellent chances in the final third. They created the better chances than Lazio and, except for being dominated in the first 30 minutes, they controlled the game-even after Pavlovic was sent off. I liked the effort, not the result.
I wrote this earlier.
The club has to pay the fans who decides to attend this games in San Siro.
And cut the payment of these bunch of lazy players.
Waste of time watching this Milan
For me yes the players must accept the books and the whistles especially leao and Theo because the two of them are the worst for me they must stay on the bench till the end of the season and sell them in summer window
