Tottenham forward Son labels Milan game ‘most important of the season’

By Euan Burns -

Tottenham forward Son Heuing-Min has said that the match against AC Milan on Wednesday night is the biggest of the season so far for his side.

Speaking during a press conference in England ahead of the game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (via Milan News), the South Korea international did not play down the importance of the game in the context of Totttenham’s season so far.

“It’s the most important match of the season, it’s fundamental. Those who do not feel ready should not play these matches. We started the first match badly, but in the Champions League you always have to play great games. Tomorrow we will give everything,” Son said.

Tottenham are 1-0 down from the first leg at San Siro after Brahim Diaz scored in the first half. Given Tottenham are locked in a very fierce race to finish in the top four of the Premier League and are out of both domestic cup competitions, it is hard to dispute Son’s claim.

When asked about what sort of team Milan are, Son said that the Rossoneri are actually similar in how they play to Spurs.

“They play in a similar way to us, after all they are strong in the Champions League. It will be a very tough match, also in terms of individual duels,” he explained.

Milan just need to draw the game at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium to reach the Champions League quarter-finals.
