Tough week of fixtures awaits Milan after the break: Lazio, Liverpool and Juventus

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have started the season in the best way possible with two wins and a goal difference of +4. However, after the break, things will get a bit tougher for them and that will be interesting to see.

There’s no doubt that the Rossoneri did well in the opening two fixtures, just as it’s true that Sampdoria and Cagliari aren’t high-calibre opponents. Therefore, Stefano Pioli’s men will face a real test after the break, taking on three big teams.

They will start against Lazio on Sunday next week, then face Liverpool on the Wednesday, and finally Juventus on the Sunday. You don’t have to be a football expert to understand that this will be a challenging seven days for Milan.

Of course, if they can get away with good results, this week will surely give them a fantastic confidence boost. Then again, poor results could be devastating for the team and that wouldn’t be good.

  1. From defense perspective we are stronger than all the three mentioned teams. And we’re able to lock the center and the only risky area is Theo’s side. Everything else looks and works almost perfect. Lazio and Juve never play good if they struggle in the center. That’s where we’ve beaten them last season. Liverpool’s defense still messed up even with Van Dijk back and their attack is not the same death trident season or two ago.

Unfortunately we’re not doing well in attack considering Giroud is not available, and Zlatan still recovering. So we are like a tank without a heavy weapon.

But a little luck would bring us 9 points. Any mistakes made by opponents could bring us opportunities.

I worry more about Porto clash than Liverpool and Atletico. That’s where we can lose points.
