CM: Toulouse could act as development club for Milan – the three candidates so far

It is nothing new for clubs to have partnerships to develop players and AC Milan could make use of their RedBird links.

In recent years, there have been several cases of players developing on loan at a club regularly. For example, look at Chelsea. During the 2010s, they had a partnership with Vitesse, where it felt like every decent youngster headed to the Netherlands to develop.

Now, they have the BlueCo family. Of course, that is a completely separate matter, but the principle remains largely the same. What is even more important, though, is that they are not the only ones taking advantage of these grey areas.

So, Milan could now do the same with Toulouse.

RedBird, Milan and Toulouse

As Calciomercato.com reports, the relationship between RedBird and Toulouse has not been utilised much. So, that can be changed for the Rossoneri’s gain.

In January, it seemed Juan Arizala would join the club and then head on loan to the French club. He opted to move to Udinese instead, though. Rather than signing players to develop elsewhere, the Diavolo may now use the club to develop their own.

The Futuro can only take talents so far, so Milan must be smart when planning their next steps.

As a result, they may opt to give them first team football in a different and more challenging league to see how they adapt. Developing overseas could also bring significant benefits in the future, if they understand the style of another European league.

Right now, three talents are being considered for a switch; those being Kevin Zeroli, David Odogu and Warren Bondo. Whilst the synergy is ‘unlikely’ to be like that of Chelsea and Strasbourg – which is maybe a good thing – it can still be useful.

  1. Bondo, Zeroli, Camarda and Comotto; might be great option for the boys.

French league is physically demanding and less competition aside form top 4, perfect for youth.

  2. Bondo will be 23 this year, not sure about him but
Torriani, Odogu, *Athekame (he can easilly drop to being 3rd in the pecking order if we buy some quality RWB this summer as we definitely should, maybe even 4th if Musah is to remain), Comotto, Zeroli, Cisse, Balentien, *Camarda, Kostic, Max Ibrahimovic etc. Eletu, Sia, Sala, Traore? They are not all for that level (Ligue 1 or at least Toulouse to be more precise) but we can surely sell at least some of them with the buy-back clause inserted in the deal. Vos is clearly a flop, IDK yet what to make of Hodzic but he doesn’t exactly inspire much confidence either.
