Parma director Federico Cherubini is knocking on Massimiliano Allegri’s door hoping to begin some negotiations in view of the summer.

The two, who worked together at Juventus, are among the key figures in the transfer pipeline. Tuttosport (via Calciomercato.com) reports that there are many names in the mix who could make the move from Lombardy to Emilia-Romagna and vice versa.

One name stands out above all others? Francesco Camarda, seeking a relaunch for next season after the shoulder injury that ended his first starring stint in Serie A with Lecce.

Camarda, Comotto and more

The 64 minutes against Roma on January 6th were Camarda’s last of the season, having succumbed to a shoulder injury after 17 Serie A appearances and two Coppa Italia appearances and having gone under the surgeon’s knife.

The highlight of his season at Lecce came with the decisive goal in the 2-2 home draw against Bologna, while there were also moments of growth following errors, such as the penalty missed against Napoli.

The newspaper reports a meeting in Collecchio a couple of weeks ago between Camarda’s agent, Giuseppe Riso, and Cherubini, Parma’s CEO. In reality, the meeting was about another Milan talent, 17-year-old Christian Comotto. He is currently on loan at Spezia in Serie B, and Bologna are also eyeing him.

On the other hand, Milan have been linked with Parma’s Mateo Pellegrino, who recently renewed his contract until 2030. The Argentine striker admitted he is flattered: “The interest is nice. My focus right now is on Parma. I just renewed my contract and I’m very happy. I think game by game, day by day, and that’s my focus now.”

And what’s more, Tuttosport writes, there’s Mariano Troilo, the match winner of the San Siro clash between the two last month. The defender will be monitored in the last 10 league matches and could soon be included in Igli Tare and Giorgio Furlani’s shortlist to strengthen the defence.

  1. Would be _extremely foolish_ to let go of Camarda before the lad even turns 20. He will be big. Hopefully bigger than Pio Esposito.

    1. The problem is Pio Esposito actually did time in Serie B, and it’s paying off. Camarda, at 17 went from Serie C, where he didn’t exactly light up the league, to a Serie A relegation battler who would be reasonably be expected NOT to entrust safetey to an unproven 17 year old. Camarda NEEDS to do a season or two in Serie B, preferably the latter, preferably at a club that will guarantee minutes, and preferably at the same club if it’s for two seasons so that he can establish continuity. Then, if he scores 10-15 goals in a Serie B season, he’ll be ready to join the first team.

      1. Yep. Inter knew most players aren’t ready to play at top level at 18-19. Somehow Milan management doesn’t share that view and is willing to sell everyone for the first offer.

  2. If we can have Camarda and Comotto play there for a season or 2 on loan or with buy-back and use that to go for Bernabe that would be an amazing deal!
