AC Milan owner Elliott Management wants to leave the club in the hands of owners that will continue the Rossoneri’s positive trajectory, a report claims.
Tuttosport have reported today (via MilanNews) that outgoing owner Elliott is very keen not to sell the club to a company that could burden Milan with debts that they incur during the purchase.
The work done by Elliott has been very impressive over the last four years as the financial situation has been stabilised and the team are in the running for a first Serie A title since 2010/11.
The two serious candidates to buy the club are Bahrain-based company Investcorp and American fund RedBird.
Investcorp have set aside €800 million but the other €400m for the purchase would come from a financing operation with major banks.
That is why even if RedBird offer €1bn rather than the €1.18bn of Investcorp, it could be more attractive as the money would all be of their own making.
