TuttoAtalanta: Milan in talks over swap deal that would see Pobega leave and playmaker arrive

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and Atalanta are currently in talks over a swap deal that would satisfy both parties by bringing them the target they want, a report claims.

According to TuttoAtalanta.com, the deal being discussed would see playmaker Josip Ilicic join Milan and midfielder Tommaso Pobega would go the other way to Bergamo. The clubs are looking for the perfect chemistry as the Rossoneri need to replace Hakan Calhanoglu and the profile of the Slovenian playmaker is one that they admire.

Atalanta chief Percassi valued Ilicic at €8-10m, while Milan want €12m to sell Pobega, who could become the latest young midfielder to try his hand somewhere else after Manuel Locatelli and Matteo Pessina.

La Dea wants to close definitively soon as they see Pobega as the ideal alternative to De Roon and/or Freuler in the middle of the park, so it is a situation worth keeping an eye on.

What is the secret of Milan loving old players?
Swaping a young and talented player with an old player with no ambitions anymore. Its just frustrating.

Oh boy! hope this don’t happen. I hope we go hard after either Sabitzer or Isco for the Attacking Midfielder role and keep pobega around. He could get playing time with us in Coppa Italia, Seria A when games are close to each other and especially in January when we lose bennacer and kessie. Then we could hopefully have Pobega, Tonali and hopefully Bakayoko. And who knows, maybe we will be plagued by injures again.

I quote: ‘… who could become the latest young midfielder to try his hand somewhere else after Manuel Locatelli and Matteo Pessina.’
This is why ACM should avoid any swap.

Terrible deal… if we do this then get Pessina. Otherwise I’d rather keep Pobega as opposed to Ilicic. Wtf Milan??….

  5. crorossonero says:

Swap and get a buy back clause for him. We need a player like Iličić, he has experience in CL and can play multiple positions. Pobega will be a player for Milan in 2-3 years.

  6. Abjohnson70 says:

This deal is a ridiculous deal and the suggestion is a pathetic one to begin with. Why on Earth would a reasonable team swap a young talented player for old and worn out player? Milan already have their God sent playmaker in Sabitzer. So what the hell are they waiting for. Sabitzer is cheap and resourceful, useful and complete attacking player that suits into our system of play. Milan management had better not make a regrettable mistake again.

    Crazy… managemen Elliott idiot….

  8. Cr says:

Better close the deal for Sabitzer now than later and keep our young talents for depths or injured players. No swap deal please, its senseless.
