Tuttosport: A personal milestone, the Scudetto dream and renewal – four months of truth for Ibra

By Oliver Fisher -

After a few days in which the media have been focused on other things, Zlatan Ibrahimovic wants to go back to creating headlines with his goals.

As Tuttosport writes (via MilanNews), Ibrahimovic is in a delicate moment having created a storm because of his row with Lukaku during the Coppa Italia derby. This episode left its mark, especially the accusations of racism that the Swede did not take at all well.

He missed a penalty against Bologna on Saturday which meant that he did not move on to 500 club career goals, and the paper reports that Ibra wants to grab this personal milestone as soon as possible, perhaps as soon as Sunday’s match at San Siro against Crotone.

The next few months will also be fundamental for his future as his contract with Milan will expire on June 30, and a meeting regarding a potential extension will only come at the end of the season.

Qualification for the next Champions League and the potential of having the Scudetto patch on his chest are motivations for Zlatan to keep going into his 40s. The ambition of winning another trophy with Milan would be the icing on the cake for his illustrious career, so the next few months will therefore be decisive.
