Tuttosport: Allegri, Sarri, Tuchel, Conceicao – Fonseca has three games to keep Milan job

Paulo Fonseca has had a very rocky start to life as the AC Milan coach and with just two points from the first three Serie A matches, and the pressure is already mounting.

As reported by Tuttosport (via Milan News), there are a host of big-name coaches that are currently up for grabs and that means Fonseca has even less time than normal to turn things around.

Whilst it seems incredibly fanciful to suggest that Fonseca is on the brink so early in his Milan tenure, there is no doubt that things do have to change quickly. The draws with Lazio and Torino left a lot to be desired, whilst the loss away at Parma was atrocious.

The next three games are viewed as key for Fonseca. Venezia represents the sort of Serie A game that Milan should be winning comfortably, the Liverpool match will indicate how Milan stack up against Europe’s elite teams, and the Inter match is an opportunity to end the terrible derby form.

What really does not help Fonseca is that names like Massimiliano Allegri, Sergio Conceicao, Thomas Tuchel and Maurizio Sarri are all currently out of work. They were all linked with Milan before Fonseca was given the job.

    1. Zlatan wanted conte not this coach with none of the players respect. It’s clear the senior players don’t want him or playing for him. It should be clear to the management by now

    1. No. Milan has never been successful with foreign coaches. We need an Italian coach.

Winning teams are built around defense that means we need a coach who can build the team from the back. So Allegri should be favored candidate to take over from Fonseca.

      1. All allegri knows is how to defend. FúCK that.
The half bald eagle can wait for an offer abroad that will never come and stay the fúck away from Milan. Did enough harm the first time round.

        1. did enough harm the first time around eh? but with hsi boring football he gave you a league title. and after your club kicked him out he went to win almost 4 league titles with another of yopur arch-rivals juventus. I’m not saying that means we should hire him, but rather watch how you paint people especially when you know better and stop being economical with the truth

        2. Incidentally we couldn’t defend against a team of turtles currently…. Wouldn’t be the worst damage control.

The problem is, Milan would have to pay him 8mil WHILE still paying Pioli and Fonseca. That would never happen.

      2. Both Alegri and Sarri time is gone. Coaches have expiration date same as players. If we wanted a good promising Italian coach we should have went for Motta. Who was put on the table for us basically, but our dum management let that opportunity slide.

  1. Not a big fan of tuchel but I wouldn’t mind seeing how that goes. Dude does have a way with players and brings certain passion, which 4 example pioli and fonseca don’t show..
Maybe he’d learn some fashion sense as well in milan

      1. maybe. maybe not. Tuchel did get around 10M gross, right? Thats what 6M net?

I’m sure a deal could be made if both parties wanted to. 5-6M salary with bonuses. But this is all speculation.

  2. Everyone who emphasizes this topic does not wish Milan well. First of all, for a change of coach to happen, it would mean that he was defeated by Venice, Liverpool and Inter, and whoever wants that is not a Milan fan. Secondly, do you really think that Allegri, Tuchel or Sarri will immediately bring results, or will we have to wait for them for a while? So what is the logic 🤣.

    1. I hope Fonseca turns it around but the signs aren’t good – it looks like he’s done zero homework and doesn’t want to change anything that’s not working either.

      1. I know it’s not good, but should I be gloating? Every normal Milan fan wants the situation to turn around. And those who want everything to fail, just to satisfy their vanity and say how they were right, in my opinion are not fans, but deeply unhappy people. No one cares about them.

        1. You can want the situation to improve all you want, but the way the team looks suggests that Liverpool and Inter will not be wins. That’s not being a bad fan, that’s just taking your rosy glasses of and taking a shot of realism.

          1. If Leao and Pulisic had hit their chances against Torino, everything would have looked different today. No one mentions the chances that were created, because they conceded cheap goals. And watch out now, you’re calling on Alegria, who started every season in Milan conceding a lot of goals. There will be good results against both Liverpool and Inter, and you will hit the mouse holes.

    2. There should not be ifs when Milan play against small teams. It’s a must win match.
OK forget about results and points, what did the coached have shown to the management and fans.
Just lot of problems and seperation in dressing room.
It’s not very new team to not have any cohesion, most of players know them very well at Milan and from past clubs.

No Milan fans likes to loose but with type of coach it’s better to loose 3 than not winning 20per season and struggle all year.

  3. I don’t think Fonseca is leaving anytime soon, but if he does I’ll think the replacement is going to be Bonera or turn back to Mr.Pioli.
No way Milan is going to pay 3 coaches in a year.

  4. Tasking Fonseca with the mission to get positive results from a high flying Liverpool and a team that beat us 6 times in a roll in order to save his job is just as amateurish as hiring him in the first place. We’re objectively inferior to both teams.

  5. I have been supporting this team since 1994 through thick and thin. I came close to giving up when we sold Tonali. But if they appoint Allegri, I am not sure that I can keep going

  6. If this clown Cardinale Was ambitious and I want to win quote from him wasn’t a pure lie then a coach like Fonseca would’t seen Milans dressing room and he would fire Pioli after the Semi final embarrassment against Inter and never brought a copy & Paste Pioli. He would brought players like Calafiori, Scalvini, Osimhen etc and not just under 20 mil, 1 year left contract or injury prone players or players like Emerson Flop. So all Milanfans should stop being delusional that Cardinale gonna bring a manager like Conte, De Zerbi, Zidane, Tuchel, Motta etc. This clown run Milan as if we were Bologna or Atalanta. So he never gonna fire Fonseca as long as reaching top 4 is possible and if he would get fired then Cheapinale would bring a low cost manager.

  7. Hopefully Fonseca works out. If not, the list of potential replacements is good.

That said, if Tuchel would be the answer, part of paying for him would come from selling Pulisic. For whatever reason, Tuchel does not favor him.

  8. it is pretty obvious that the players dosent respect and want him and the fans dosent want him and this time it wasnt ibra fault as he wanted conte and not fraudseca and this cheap managment would never pay 3 managers if fonseca gets sacked i belive it is pioli but rather have pioli

  9. Tuchel is better at this point of time and eventually bring back Milan to good level.

Or at least conceicao than sarri/allegri.

I hope this management correct their mistakes.
