Although a lot of the focus has been surrounding signings in recent days, the Milan management are also working on some key renewals.
According to Monday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive), Hakan Calhanoglu’s agent – Gordon Stipic – arrived in Italy on Sunday to discuss the renewal of his client’s contract.
The Turkey international has an agreement expiring in less than a year, as his current deal runs until June 30th 2021, but the will of the parties is to continue together. Calhanoglu has given his priority to Milan and the Rossoneri have no intention of letting go of a player who has finally blossomed.
The 26-year-old is one step away from securing a renewal and signing a contract which will run until 30 June 2024. The new salary should be around €3million net per season and only the announcement is awaited.
Calhanoglu racked up six goals and eight assists in Serie A post-lockdown, showing his importance to head coach Stefano Pioli’s plans.
