Tuttosport: Club interested and replacement found – Ballo-Toure mystery continues

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are still looking to offload Fodé Ballo-Touré but the rumours of a probable departure in the direction of Germany had seemingly gone quiet.

However, Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) report that Werder Bremen are still willing to buy Ballo-Toure. The cost of the operation would be €4-5m and Milan already have his replacement lined up: Riccardo Calafiori of Basel.

Calafiori – a full-back who came through the youth academy of Roma and also played for Genoa – has been on Milan’s list for a few weeks now as the new deputy to Theo Hernandez. He could only arrive from the Swiss club if Ballo-Toure’s exit were to be confirmed.

The situation is therefore temporarily stalled until Werder Bremen make an offer that reaches the desires amount. Developments are expected in the final two weeks of the transfer window as clubs attempt to put the final pieces in place before the mercato closes.

    1. I think management was working on getting other exits done. Apparently harder to get rid of players then to sign them. CDK is gone, so I’m certain those two will follow. There is still enough time I think.

  1. Calafiori is a back up to Theo and management obviously wasn’t working on getting this transfer done right away. It will still happen and there is enough time. Patience.

  2. I don’t know how come no one ever thinks about Iling Junior, when we’re talking about Theo’s deputy!?
Juventus are willing to sell him, and the boy has an excellent future ahead of him!
