Tuttosport: Basaksehir intend to keep Milan loanee but will aim for a discount

In addition to signings, AC Milan are also expected to make a few sales this summer. Leo Duarte is one of the exit-bound players and this time it will be on a permanent basis, a report claims.

The centre-back has been on loan at the Turkish side Basaksehir since January 2021 and it will expire at the end of the month. The club wants to keep Duarte and there is a €5.5m buy-out clause in the contract, but it will not be activated.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Basaksehir will soon open talks with Milan to obtain a discount on the price tag. Perhaps they can get it down to €3-4m, which isn’t a lot considering the Rossoneri paid €10m for him three years ago.

The Rossoneri will avoid a capital loss at €4m, though, which is worth noting. Duarte will not be returning to the club, that’s for certain, and it will still go down as a failed investment by the San Siro side. Just like many of Leonardo’s signings.
