Tuttosport: Blow for Man Utd and Juventus as Milan hold progressive talks over star’s renewal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and agent Gordon Stipic are moving closer towards an agreement over the renewal of Hakan Calhanoglu, a report claims.

The agent of Calhanoglu – Gordon Stipic – confirmed there was a ‘positive meeting’ with the club’s management over his renewal.

After the meeting, Calciomercato.com reporter Daniele Longo reported that positive news has emerged from the player’s entourage and that there was constructive and positive dialogue regarding a new deal.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), there was no white smoke emerging after the first meeting between Stipic and the Milan management, but there were signs of a thaw between the parties.

The final agreement has not arrived as Maldini and co. have put on the table an offer of €3.5million per season for the next four or five years, while the player’s agent has asked for around €5million. The distance seems like it can be bridged, and Calhanoglu himself has hinted that he wants to stay at Milan.

The same paper (via MilanNews) reported yesterday that Manchester United and Juventus are the former Leverkusen man’s chief admirers.
