Tuttosport: Bologna and Celtic stars on Milan’s wish list but watch out for a surprise

AC Milan have one major objective between now and the end of the transfer window: to give head coach Stefano Pioli a new centre-back.

According to Friday’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanLive), Milan have turned their attentions to Bologna’s Takehiro Tomiyasu after being disappointed in their pursuit of Wesley Fofana.

For there is a distance between demand (€25m) and the offer on the table (€15m), but the Rossoneri are ready to improve their offer, though they are hoping the Rossoblu will compromise as they do not want to spend €25m.

In addition to the Japan international though there are other options, and the paper highlights the likes of Matija Nastisic of Schalke and Nacho Fernandez of Real Madrid who could be last-minute loan options.

Kristoffer Ajer of Celtic is currently second on the list of targets, . but the report does not exclude the possibility that in the end Milan will remain with the defensive department the way it is and postpone their pursuit of a new centre-back.
