Cardinale Milan profit

Tuttosport: Cardinale will not sell Milan despite protests but new investors are likely

Gerry Cardinale has been in the firing line in the last week or so, with AC Milan’s ultras Curva Sud repeatedly chanting that he has to sell the club. However, as a report highlights, this isn’t something the American businessman will do.

After the 0-0 draw against Genoa last weekend, the Curva Sud displayed a banner with great criticism for the ownership outside San Siro. They also chanted ‘Cardinale, you have to sell, go away’, and this continued during the private party on Monday as well as yesterday’s game.

As reported by Tuttosport this morning, via MilanNews, the refinancing of the loan between RedBird and Elliott – announced yesterday evening – means Cardinale won’t sell the club early. That being said, new investors are very likely.

It’s not exactly a secret that Cardinale has been probing investors in Asia and the Middle East, as also proved by the documents that Milan’s Prosecutor’s Office confiscated earlier this year. An investigation, we should clarify, didn’t lead to anything as there was no wrongdoing.

Milan fans are watching on with great interest and it remains to be seen what will happen, starting with the January window. It would be a quick way for Cardinale to calm the fans, reinforcing the squad as needed.

    1. Cardinale is 100% at fault since he is the one who put them there, and has no idea how to run a big football club. The dude gotta go.

      1. I think he knows exactly what he’s doing. Only he fired M&M and appointment these stooges, now if he fires the stooges he’d need to face the music and acknowledge that he was wrong with A) firing M&M and B) appointing the stooges.

And that’s a lot for a rich folk like him to swallow. Firing the stooges he’d lose what little credibility he has left.

        1. Either way he is losing credibility and he can redeem himself by correcting his own mistakes. If he doesn’t he will be forced to sell as the fans will turn on him more and force him to sell the club. His investors don’t want a failed project so he has no choice but to act. The sooner he does it the better or else his own investors and board members will have him removed and the he will have ZERO for years to come.

          1. You can’t force anybody to sell something they don’t want to sell.
His company is the owner of Ac Miln.
Fans can dance nude on san siro every game, doesn’t matter.. nothing fans do matters.
Go ask valencia fans if their pleas worked.

Also I doubt the board can remove him. Like I said he’s the owner. He’s not the president of Milan. That’s scaroni. Board can remove him.
            They can’t remove ibra, he’s a consultant.
They could fire moncada, but not furlani..think furlani is on the board.

          2. Redbird owns Milan until Eliott says we’re done. If they didn’t refinance their loan Redbird would be halfway out already. So, yes, you can easily force the owner to sell when the owner has no money. Cardinale doesn’t have it. Fans can’t do anything but in this case Cardinale will 100% be out in 2028, I predict even sooner.

          3. “Also I doubt the board can remove him. Like I said he’s the owner. He’s not the president of Milan. That’s scaroni. Board can remove him.”

He is obviously talking about Redbird, removing him from Redbird. Automatically he has nothing to do with Milan. He is investing other people’s money and if investors don’t like what he is doing they can easily replace him, since it is their capital…

          4. That’s cute. Milan is just a smoll portfolio of what redbird has.
Redbird won’t do shìt to jerry as long as the other ventures are earning money..
That’s why he isn’t hand on at Milan. Dude has a major firm to run after all.

        2. He may know how to run a baseball team, Yankees, which is a totally different. There is no champions leauge, relegation. There is no slump in merchandise due to poor performances, or a drop in ticket sales due to bad performances. They will always make money in baseball. Football is totally different, more complicated to build a team, respect the culture, history, winning etc. Yankees don’t have to win anything for the next 30 years and still make money. If our Milan does that, we’ll be in SERIA F.

          1. Milan doesn’t need to win trophies to make money. I fact a vast majority of clubs in top tier don’t make money.

Look man, Milan didn’t win a thing for a decade and we were nowhere near serie F.
Like I said before..he knows exactly what he’s doing. It might not be working but he knows what he’s doing.

  1. He needs to go, you can’t just kick out legends like Maldini who have only done great for the club just because your pride was hurt we’re better off being like dortmund and be owned by the people

  2. SI AMERIKA MESTI OUT SEBAGAI PEMILIK MILAN. BELIAU TDK PANTAS SBG pemilik MILAN,karena Beliau mementingkan Business daripada memenangkan banyak piala. SI AMERIKA TERLALU PELIT DALAM PEMBELIAN PEMAIN,KARENA BELIAU PUNYA UTANG BANYAK KEPADA ELLIOT. SUDAH SAATNYA SI AMERIKA KELUAR DARI KEPEMILIKAN MILAN

  3. Milan is run by a fund. Fund’s primary goal is generating income and profits. Sporting results are unfortunately not the primary drive here.

Only a fraction of RedBird’s budget is allocated to the sporting side. The issue is the management running it aren’t spending it in any sort of functional way. This is the only thing Gerry needs to fix – a functional structure below him to clean house at the club level.

    1. Exactly

Trying to win titles requires major spending – and that’s doesn’t guarantee that you will even win – just that you have an opportunity to do so – BUT that would eat into profits – and that is not what Gerry wants. It’s business for him only

      Sad

      1. No it doesn’t require major spending…
Are you really that stupid? Did we do major spending when we won the scudeto?
Did napoli do major spending when they won theirs?
Inter is fishing the free agent market for years now. They definitely aren’t major spending…

        1. the difference is, napoli and inter has excellence director/president who can lead the team and knows what the club needs (players, coach etc) while gerry has no clue in it.

  4. Reinforce the squad? He has already slowly dismantled the scudetto winning club with a bunch of mediocre players. Only Fofana, Reijnders, and pulsic have worked out the rest are crap. The only way to make him going is if it hurts him financially. Stop buying merchandise and going to the game and if he shows up in Milan make him uncomfortable and let him know he is not wanted. #cardinaleout
